I will be attempting the Chicago marathon and looking to raise funds for great local charity called Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA). GLASA promotes and supports the optimal development and well-being for youth, adults and injured military veterans who have a primary physical or visual disability through the provision of inclusive recreational, fitness and competitive sports activities. GLASA offers opportunities for empowerment through education, leadership and training in collaboration with community-based organizations. 91.3 cents of every $ donated goes directly to its programs and the people they serve. www.glasa.org

This will be my first full marathon and it has been a good 5 years since I did a my one and only half marathon, there are a few more grey hairs now and possibly a few (make than many) more lbs to carry around the course. Completing a marathon is on the bucket list so doing it whilst living in Chicago and raising some money for a worthy cause at the same time is great, if I get to shed a few lbs along the way then even better.
